iRobot Vacuum Cleaners

The iRobot corporation was founded in 1990 and in 2000 they introduced a range of home robots for cleaning floors. There are two types of robot cleaners the Roomba and the Scooba.

The Roomba is the most popular machine produced by iRobot and has several models, powered by a rechargeable battery a number are supplied with a dock station to which the Roomba returns to at the end of the cleaning cycle to recharge. Accessories are available that work using infrared and radio control.

The Scooba is designed to wash hard floors it runs through a four stage process, firstly it preps the floor then washes, scrubs and then squeegees. It will clean around furniture and will avoid any carpeted areas or stairs.
